﴿ذَٰلِكُم بِأَنَّكُمُ ٱتَّخَذۡتُمۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوٗا وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۚ فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يُخۡرَجُونَ مِنۡهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ ﴾
[الجاثِية: 35]
﴿ذلكم بأنكم اتخذتم آيات الله هزوا وغرتكم الحياة الدنيا فاليوم لا يخرجون﴾ [الجاثِية: 35]
| Abdel Haleem because you received God’s revelations with ridicule and were deceived by worldly life.’ They will not be brought out of the Fire on that Day, nor will they be given the chance to make amends |
| Abdul Hye This is because you used to take the revelations of Allah (this Qur’an) as a joke and the life of the world deceived you.” So this Day neither they shall be taken out from there (hell), nor shall they be allowed excuses (to amend their ways to please Allah) |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali This, because ye used to take the Signs of Allah in jest, and the life of the world deceived you:" (From) that Day, therefore, they shall not be taken out thence, nor shall they be received into Grace |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi That is because ye took the revelations of Allah scoffingly, and there beguiled you the life of the world. Today, therefore, they will not be taken forth therefrom, nor will they be suffered to please Allah |
| Ahmed Ali This because you laughed at God's revelations and were taken in by the life of the world." So they will neither be taken out of it, nor will be asked to seek God's favour on that day |
| Aisha Bewley That is because you made a mockery of Allah´s Signs and the life of the dunya deluded you.´ Therefore, today they will not get out of it. They will not be able to appease Allah |
| A. J. Arberry That is for that you took God's signs in mockery, and the present life deluded you.' So today they shall not be brought forth from it, nor will they be suffered to make amends |
| Ali Quli Qarai That is because you took the signs of Allah in derision, and the life of the world had deceived you.’ So today they will not be brought out of it, nor will they be asked to propitiate [Allah] |
