﴿وَأَمَّا مَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ وَنَهَى ٱلنَّفۡسَ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰ ﴾
[النَّازعَات: 40]
﴿وأما من خاف مقام ربه ونهى النفس عن الهوى﴾ [النَّازعَات: 40]
| Abdel Haleem for anyone who feared the meeting with his Lord and restrained himself from base desires |
| Abdul Hye But those who feared standing before their Lord and restrained themselves from evil desires |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali And for such as had entertained the fear of standing before their Lord's (tribunal) and had restrained (their) soul from lower desires |
| Abdul Majid Daryabadi And as for him who dreaded standing before his Lord, and restrained his soul from lust |
| Ahmed Ali But he who feared standing before his Lord, and restrained his self from vain desires |
| Aisha Bewley But as for him who feared the Station of his Lord and forbade the lower self its appetites |
