﴿وَقِيلَ يَٰٓأَرۡضُ ٱبۡلَعِي مَآءَكِ وَيَٰسَمَآءُ أَقۡلِعِي وَغِيضَ ٱلۡمَآءُ وَقُضِيَ ٱلۡأَمۡرُ وَٱسۡتَوَتۡ عَلَى ٱلۡجُودِيِّۖ وَقِيلَ بُعۡدٗا لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴾
[هُود: 44]
﴿وقيل ياأرض ابلعي ماءك وياسماء أقلعي وغيض الماء وقضي الأمر واستوت على﴾ [هُود: 44]
| Dr Kamal Omar And it was said: “O earth! Swallow in your water, and O sky! Withhold (your rain).” And the water was made to recede and subside and the Decree (of Allah) was implemented (and all the disbelievers perished in the deluge), and it (i.e., the Ark) anchored at judi [the word refers to a (comparatively) green and fertile land] and it was said: “Barrier (to mercy) for the nation of the transgressors!” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And it was said: O earth! Take in thy water! And O heaven: Desist! And the water was shrunken and the command of God was satisfied and it was on the same level as Al-Judi. And it was said: Away with the folk, the ones who are unjust |
