﴿قَالَتۡ لَهُمۡ رُسُلُهُمۡ إِن نَّحۡنُ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ وَلَٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَمُنُّ عَلَىٰ مَن يَشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦۖ وَمَا كَانَ لَنَآ أَن نَّأۡتِيَكُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٍ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴾
[إبراهِيم: 11]
﴿قالت لهم رسلهم إن نحن إلا بشر مثلكم ولكن الله يمن على﴾ [إبراهِيم: 11]
| Dr Kamal Omar Their Messengers said to them: “We are not but a human being like you but Allah bestows His Grace to whom He thinks proper out of His Ibâd. And it is not for us that we may come to you with authority except under permission of Allah. And in Allah the Believers must put their trust |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Their Messengers said to them: We are only mortals like you except God shows His grace on whom He wills of His servants. And it had not been for us that we bring you an authority, but by the permission of God. And in God let the ones who believe put their trust |
| Dr Munir Munshey The messengers said to them "Of course, we are humans like you! But Allah confers His blessings upon such of His servants as He chooses! Without the will of Allah, we cannot bring you any miracles! The believers should bestow their trust in Allah |

| Farook Malik Their Messengers said to them: "It is true that we are human like yourselves, but Allah bestows His grace of appointing a Messenger on such of His servants as He pleases. It is not in our power to bring you any sign except by Allah’s permission, and in Allah let the believers put their trust |
| George Sale Their apostles replied unto them, we are no other than men like unto you; but God is bountiful unto such of his servants as He pleaseth: And it is not in our power to give you a miraculous demonstration of our mission, unless by the permission of God; in God therfore let the faithful trust |
| Maududi Their Messengers told them: "Indeed we are only human beings like yourselves, but Allah bestows His favour on those of His servants whom He wills. It does not lie in our power to produce any authority except by the leave of Allah. It is in Allah that the believers should put their trust |
