﴿قَالَ أَرَءَيۡتَ إِذۡ أَوَيۡنَآ إِلَى ٱلصَّخۡرَةِ فَإِنِّي نَسِيتُ ٱلۡحُوتَ وَمَآ أَنسَىٰنِيهُ إِلَّا ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَنۡ أَذۡكُرَهُۥۚ وَٱتَّخَذَ سَبِيلَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ عَجَبٗا ﴾
[الكَهف: 63]
﴿قال أرأيت إذ أوينا إلى الصخرة فإني نسيت الحوت وما أنسانيه إلا﴾ [الكَهف: 63]
| Dr Kamal Omar He said: “Did you mark when we got seated on the rock so indeed I forgot the fish. And none made me forget except the Satan that I may keep it in memory, and it found its way to the sea in a very strange way!” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He said: Hadst thou considered? When we took shelter at the rock, truly, I forgot the great fish. And none but Satan caused me to forget to remember it. And it took to itself to a way into the sea in a wondrous way |

| George Sale His servant answered, dost thou know what has befallen me? When we took up our lodging at the rock, verily I forgot the fish: And none made me to forget it, except Satan, that I should not remind thee of it. And the fish took its way in the sea, in a wonderful manner |
| Maududi The servant said: "Did you see what happened? When we betook ourselves to the rock to take rest, I forgot the fish ? and it is only Satan who caused me to forget to mention it to you ? so that it made its way into the sea in a strange manner |
