﴿لِّلَّذِينَ يُؤۡلُونَ مِن نِّسَآئِهِمۡ تَرَبُّصُ أَرۡبَعَةِ أَشۡهُرٖۖ فَإِن فَآءُو فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 226]
﴿للذين يؤلون من نسائهم تربص أربعة أشهر فإن فاءوا فإن الله غفور﴾ [البَقَرَة: 226]
Dr Kamal Omar For those who take an oath not to have sexual relations with their wives is a waiting period extending to four months. Then if they made amends (within this period), verily, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, continuously Merciful |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar For those who vow abstinence from their wives, await four months. Then, if they changed their minds, then, truly, God is Forgiving, Compassionate |
Dr Munir Munshey Those who swear to sever (sexual) relations with their wives, have to wait four months. If they change their mind (during this period) then, (of course) Allah is the most Forgiving, and the most Merciful |
