﴿وَمِنۡهُمۡ أُمِّيُّونَ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ إِلَّآ أَمَانِيَّ وَإِنۡ هُمۡ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 78]
﴿ومنهم أميون لا يعلمون الكتاب إلا أماني وإن هم إلا يظنون﴾ [البَقَرَة: 78]
| Dr Kamal Omar And amongst them are Ummiyyun; they do not know Al-Kitab except (adhering to their) desires and they are not but those who nourish conjecture |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And among them are the unlettered who know nothing of the Book but fantasy. And, truly, they but surmise |
| Dr Munir Munshey Some of them are illiterate and know nothing about the scriptures. They (only) have wishful fancies and (rely upon) conjecture |
