﴿قُلۡ يَٰٓأَهۡلَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ كَلِمَةٖ سَوَآءِۭ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَكُمۡ أَلَّا نَعۡبُدَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَلَا نُشۡرِكَ بِهِۦ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَتَّخِذَ بَعۡضُنَا بَعۡضًا أَرۡبَابٗا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُولُواْ ٱشۡهَدُواْ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ ﴾
[آل عِمران: 64]
﴿قل ياأهل الكتاب تعالوا إلى كلمة سواء بيننا وبينكم ألا نعبد إلا﴾ [آل عِمران: 64]
| Dr Kamal Omar Say: “O people of Al-Kitab: join on the basis of a statement acceptable amongst us and amongst you, that we do not pay obedience but to Allah; and we associate nothing as partners to Him, and some of us shall not pick up some as nourisher-sustainer besides Allah.” Then if they turned away, then say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Say: O People of the Book! Approach now to a word common between us and between you that we worship none but God and ascribe nothing as partners with Him, that none of us take others to ourselves as lords besides God. And if they turned away, then, say: Bear witness that we are ones who submit to God |
| Dr Munir Munshey Say, "Oh people of the scriptures! Come, let us rally around the belief that is common between us: that we will worship no one except Allah, that we will not associate anything with Him, and that neither of us will take, instead of Allah, others like ourselves as our Lord." If they turn away, then say, "You bear witness that it is we who are the obedient ones _ (the muslims) |
| Edward Henry Palmer Say, 'O ye people of the Book, come to a word laid down plainly between us and you, that we will not serve other than God, nor associate aught with him, nor take each other for lords rather than God.' But if they turn back then say, 'Bear witness that we are resigned |

Let us get together on what is common between us and you: that we shall worship none but Allah; that we shall not associate any partners with Him; that we shall not take from among ourselves any lords beside Allah." If they reject your invitation then tell them: "Bear witness that we are Muslims (who have surrendered to Allah) |
| George Sale Say, O ye who have received the scripture, come to a just determination between us and you; that we worship not any except God, and associate no creature with him; and that the one of us take not the other for lords, beside God. But if they turn back, say, bear witness that we are true believers |
| Maududi Say: ´People of the Book! Come to a word common between us and you: that we shall serve none but Allah and shall associate none with Him in His divinity and that some of us will not take others as lords beside Allah.´ And if they turn their backs (from accepting this call), tell them: ´Bear witness that we are the ones who have submitted ourselves exclusively to Allah.´ |
