Dr Kamal Omar He has set forth an example regarding your ownselves. Are there for you, out of those whom your right (hands) held in trust — as sharing partners in what We bestowed on you (as provisions) — so you are, therein, on equal footing — you fear them like you fear (for) your ownselves? Thus We provide details to the Verses for a nation who use intellect |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar He propounds a parable for you from yourselves. Have you—among those whom your right hands possessed—ascribed associates in what We provided you so that you share as equals and you fear them like your awe for each other? Thus, We explain distinctly the signs to a folk who are reasonable |
Dr Munir Munshey He gives you an example from among you. Do you treat any of your slaves as your partners? Do you share with them equally the wealth We have granted you? Do you fear them as you would fear others like yourself? Thus, We explain Our signs for the nation that has sense |

George Sale He propoundeth unto you a comparison taken from yourselves. Have ye, among the slaves whom your right hands possess, any partner in the substance which We have bestowed on you, so that ye become equal sharers therein with them, or that ye fear them as ye fear one another? Thus do We distinctly explain our signs, unto people who understand |
Maududi He sets forth for you a parable from your own lives. Do you have among your slaves some who share with you the sustenance that We have bestowed on you so that you become equals in it, all being alike, and then you would hold them in fear as you fear each other? Thus do We make plain the Signs for those who use reason |
