Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah FaTir ayat 37 - فَاطِر - Page - Juz 22
﴿وَهُمۡ يَصۡطَرِخُونَ فِيهَا رَبَّنَآ أَخۡرِجۡنَا نَعۡمَلۡ صَٰلِحًا غَيۡرَ ٱلَّذِي كُنَّا نَعۡمَلُۚ أَوَلَمۡ نُعَمِّرۡكُم مَّا يَتَذَكَّرُ فِيهِ مَن تَذَكَّرَ وَجَآءَكُمُ ٱلنَّذِيرُۖ فَذُوقُواْ فَمَا لِلظَّٰلِمِينَ مِن نَّصِيرٍ ﴾
[فَاطِر: 37]
﴿وهم يصطرخون فيها ربنا أخرجنا نعمل صالحا غير الذي كنا نعمل أو﴾ [فَاطِر: 37]
| Dr Kamal Omar And they — they will be carried therein : "Our Nourisher-Sustainer! Bring us out, we shall perform righteous deeds quite different from what we used to do.” (Allah will remark): "And did We not give you lives long enough, so that, may receive admonition therein who came in contact with admonition. And the warner came to you (but you paid no heed.) So taste (the end result of your deeds)." So, there is not for the transgressors, out of a helper |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And they will shout aloud in it: Our Lord! Bring us out and we shall do as ones in accord with morality, not what we had been doing! Give We not you a long enough life so that whoever recollects would recollect there? And the warner drew near you, so experience it because there is no helper for ones who are unjust |
| Dr Munir Munshey There, they will cry out for help (and say), "Our Lord, (please)) take us out of here. This time around, we will perform righteous deeds, quite different from what we did earlier!" (They shall receive the answer), "Did We not give you a life long enough for you to listen to (and heed) the advice, if you really wanted. A warner had come to you! Now, taste (the torment)! There is no helper for the unjust (and the cruel) |
| Edward Henry Palmer and they shall shriek therein, 'O our Lord! bring us forth, and we will do right, not what we used to do!' - 'Did we not let you grow old enough for every one who would be mindful to be mindful? and there came to you a warner!- So taste it, for the unjust shall have none to help |

The response will be: "Did we not give you lives long enough so that he who would, could take a warning? Besides, someone did come to warn you. Now taste the fruit of your deeds, here there is no helper for the wrongdoers |
| George Sale And they shall cry out aloud in hell, saying, Lord, take us hence, and we will work righteousness, and not what we have formerly wrought. But it shall be answered them, did we not grant you lives of length sufficient, that whoever would be warned might be warned therein; and did not the preacher come unto you? Taste therefore the pains of hell. And the unjust shall have no protector |
| Maududi They will cry out in Hell and say: "Our Lord, let us out so that we may act righteously, different from what we did before." (They will be told): "Did we not grant you an age long enough for anyone to take heed if he had wanted to take heed? Besides, there came a warner to you. So have a taste of the torment now. None may come to the help of the wrong-doers |
