Quran with Tafsir_English translation - Surah FaTir ayat 8 - فَاطِر - Page - Juz 22

Does he who is enticed by his deeds of evil and iniquities alluring his mind's eyes and inducing him to hug his irreverent conviction to his heart compare with him whose deeds reflect wisdom and piety! Allah misguides indeed whom He will and guides to His path of righteousness whom He will. Therefore, do not let yourself O Muhammad be affected with grief and deep sorrow for their irreverent response to the divine message nor should you lament their deviation from sense with sighing Allah is 'Alimun (Omniscient indeed of all that they do)

Dr Kamal Omar
Is he then, to whom the evil of his deeds is made fair-seeming, and he regarded it as good (at par to one who is rightly guided)? So definitely, Allah allows to go astray whom He thinks proper, and guides whom He thinks proper. So your ‘self’ may not cripple herself (remaining) in sorrows (and regrets) over them. Certainly, Allah is All-Knower of what they do and invent
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
Then, who is there that was made to appear pleasing to him the direness of his actions so that, then, he saw it as fairer. Truly, God causes to go astray whomever He wills and guides whomever He wills. So let not thy soul be wasted in regret for them. Truly, God is Knowing of what they craft
Dr Munir Munshey
How about the one whose bad deeds are made to appear adorable to him, so he considers them good? Allah throws on the wrong path whomever He wants, and He guides whom He wants. So do not feel sorry for them, and do not grieve. Allah is well Aware of what they do
Edward Henry Palmer
What! is he whose evil act is made seemly for him, so that he looks upon it as good,-? Verily, God leads astray whom He pleases and guides whom He pleases; let not thy soul then be wasted in sighing for them; verily, God knows what they do
Farook Malik
Can that person be guided whose evil deeds are so fair seeming to him that he considers them good? The fact is that Allah leaves to stray whom He wills and guides whom He pleases. Therefore, O Prophet, let not your soul expire in sorrow on their account. Allah is aware of all their actions
George Sale
Shall he therefore for whom his evil work hath been prepared, and who imagineth it to be good, be as he who is rightly disposed, and discerneth the truth? Verily God will cause to err whom He pleaseth, and will direct whom He pleaseth. Let not thy soul therefore be spent in sighs for their sakes, on account of their obstinacy; for God well knoweth that which they do
Maududi
(How awful is the straying of the person) for whom his evil deed has been embellished so that it looks fair to him? The fact is that Allah causes whomsoever He will to fall into error and shows the Right Way to whomsoever He will. So, (O Prophet), let not your life go to waste sorrowing over them. Allah is well aware of all that they do
