﴿هَٰٓأَنتُمۡ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَٰدَلۡتُمۡ عَنۡهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَمَن يُجَٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنۡهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَكِيلٗا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 109]
﴿ها أنتم هؤلاء جادلتم عنهم في الحياة الدنيا فمن يجادل الله عنهم﴾ [النِّسَاء: 109]
Dr Kamal Omar Well, you are these (sort of) men. You argued and pleaded on behalf of them in this world’s life. So who will argue and plead with Allah on their behalf on the Day of Resurrection, or who becomes their advocate (on that Day) |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Lo, behold! You are these who disputed for them in this present life. Then, who will dispute with God for them on the Day of Resurrection? Or who will be a trustee over them |
Dr Munir Munshey Here you are, pleading and arguing on their behalf in the life of this world! But, on the day of Resurrection, who is going to plead before Allah on their behalf? Who will serve as their spokesman and supporter |
Edward Henry Palmer Here are ye, wrangling for them about this world's life;- but who shall wrangle with God for them on the day of judgment, or who shall be a guardian over them |
Farook Malik You may plead for them in this life, but who will plead for them with Allah on the Day of Resurrection? Or who will be their defender |
George Sale Behold, ye are they who have disputed for them in this present life; but who shall dispute with God for them on the day of resurrection, or who will become their patron |
Maududi You pleaded on their behalf in this worldly life but who will plead with Allah on their behalf on the Day of Resurrection, or who will be their defender there |
