﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَّخِذُواْ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ أَوۡلِيَآءَ مِن دُونِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَۚ أَتُرِيدُونَ أَن تَجۡعَلُواْ لِلَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سُلۡطَٰنٗا مُّبِينًا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 144]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا لا تتخذوا الكافرين أولياء من دون المؤمنين أتريدون أن﴾ [النِّسَاء: 144]
Dr Kamal Omar O you peope who have Believed! Do not pickup disbelievers as auliya instead of Believers. Would you wish that you may put up to Allah, against yourself a proof quite evident and manifest |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar O those who believed! Take not to yourselves the ones who are ungrateful as protectors instead of the ones who believe. Want you to assign to God clear authority against yourselves |
Dr Munir Munshey Oh you who believe! Do not pick the unbelievers instead of the believers, as your friends and allies. Do you want to place before Allah a clear proof of your guilt |
Edward Henry Palmer O ye who believe! take not misbelievers for patrons rather than believers; do ye wish to make for God a power against you |
Farook Malik O believers! Do not choose unbelievers to be your protecting friends instead of believers. Would you like to furnish Allah a clear proof against yourselves |
George Sale O true believers, take not the unbelievers for your protectors, besides the faithful. Will ye furnish God with an evident argument of impiety against you |
Maududi Believers! Do not take the unbelievers as your allies in preference to the believers. Do you wish to offer Allah a clear proof of guilt against yourselves |
