﴿أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ نَصِيبٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡجِبۡتِ وَٱلطَّٰغُوتِ وَيَقُولُونَ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ هَٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ سَبِيلًا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 51]
﴿ألم تر إلى الذين أوتوا نصيبا من الكتاب يؤمنون بالجبت والطاغوت ويقولون﴾ [النِّسَاء: 51]
| Dr Kamal Omar Have you not seen towards those who were given a portion of Al-Kitab? They develop faith in Jibt and Taghut (meaning all those, whether imaginary or real, who forge religious beliefs, customs, festivals, practices and rituals which are outside Allah’s Book) and say, concerning the disbelievers, they are better guided to the Path than those who have Believed |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Hast thou not considered those who were given a share of the Book? They believe in false gods and false deities and they say to those who were ungrateful: These are better guided than those who believed in the way |
| Dr Munir Munshey Haven´t you seen those who were granted a portion of the scriptures? They believe in superstition and (they rally around) ´Taghut´ _ (entities and institutions aligned against Allah). Concerning the disbelievers, they say, "They are closer to the right path than the believers |
