﴿إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُجَٰدِلُونَ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ سُلۡطَٰنٍ أَتَىٰهُمۡ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمۡ إِلَّا كِبۡرٞ مَّا هُم بِبَٰلِغِيهِۚ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡبَصِيرُ ﴾
[غَافِر: 56]
﴿إن الذين يجادلون في آيات الله بغير سلطان أتاهم إن في صدورهم﴾ [غَافِر: 56]
Dr Kamal Omar Verily, those who dispute in Ayaatillahe without (any) authority that came to them: there is not in their chests except a desire for greatness; (although) they will not be those who attain it. So seek refuge with Allah. Certainly He, He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Truly, those who dispute about the signs of God without any authority having approached them, there is nothing but having pride in their breasts. They will never be ones who reach its satisfaction. So seek refuge in God. Truly, He, He is The Hearing, The Seeing |
Dr Munir Munshey Indeed those who argue about the verses of Allah _ concerning which no revelation (or knowledge) has come to them _ have nothing but pride (and images of self-grandeur) in their heart. George Sale As to those who impugn the signs of God, without any convincing proof which hath been revealed unto them, there is nothing but pride in their breasts; but they shall not attain their desire: Wherefore fly for refuge unto God; for it is He who heareth and seeth |
Maududi Verily those who dispute regarding the Signs of Allah without any evidence that might have come to them, nothing but vain pride fills their hearts. Yet they shall never be able to satisfy the pride with which they are puffed up. So seek refuge with Allah. Verily He is All-Hearing, All-Seeing |
