﴿قَالُواْ يَٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَن نَّدۡخُلَهَآ أَبَدٗا مَّا دَامُواْ فِيهَا فَٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَرَبُّكَ فَقَٰتِلَآ إِنَّا هَٰهُنَا قَٰعِدُونَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 24]
﴿قالوا ياموسى إنا لن ندخلها أبدا ما داموا فيها فاذهب أنت وربك﴾ [المَائدة: 24]
| Dr Kamal Omar They said: “O Musa! Definitely, we shall not enter it ever as long as they stayed therein. So go you and your Nourisher-Sustainer, and (only) you two indulge in Qital. Surely, we, overhere, remain seated.” |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar They said: O Moses! We will never enter it as long as they continued in it, so thou and thy Lord, you two go and fight. We are here, ones who sit at home |
| Dr Munir Munshey They replied, "Oh Musa, we will certainly not enter that land, so long as those people are there. You go with your Lord and wage the war. Here, we will sit (and await your return) right here |
| Edward Henry Palmer They said, 'O Moses! we shall never enter it so long as they are therein; so, go thou and thy Lord and fight ye twain; verily, we will sit down here |
| Farook Malik They replied, "O Moses! We will never enter it so long as they remain therein. Therefore, both you and your Lord should go and fight, we will stay here |
| George Sale They replied, O Moses, we will never enter the land, while they remain therein: Go therefore thou, and thy Lord, and fight; for we will sit here |
| Maududi Nevertheless they said: ´O Moses! Never shall we enter it as long as they are there. Go forth, then, you and your Lord, and fight, both of you. As for us, we will sit here.´ |
