﴿وَإِذَا نَادَيۡتُمۡ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱتَّخَذُوهَا هُزُوٗا وَلَعِبٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَوۡمٞ لَّا يَعۡقِلُونَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 58]
﴿وإذا ناديتم إلى الصلاة اتخذوها هزوا ولعبا ذلك بأنهم قوم لا يعقلون﴾ [المَائدة: 58]
| Dr Kamal Omar And when you called for Salat (pronounced Azân or Iqamah for Prayers) they took it as mockery and fun; that is because they are a nation who do not use intellect |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And when you cried out for formal prayer they took it to themselves in mockery and as a pastime. That is because they are a folk who are not reasonable |
