﴿وَلَا تَسُبُّواْ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَسُبُّواْ ٱللَّهَ عَدۡوَۢا بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٖۗ كَذَٰلِكَ زَيَّنَّا لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ عَمَلَهُمۡ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِم مَّرۡجِعُهُمۡ فَيُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 108]
﴿ولا تسبوا الذين يدعون من دون الله فيسبوا الله عدوا بغير علم﴾ [الأنعَام: 108]
| Dr Kamal Omar And do not call names of those whom they invoke besides Allah, otherwise they would call names of Allah out of enmity (to you) without knowledge. Thus We have made fair-seeming to each ummah their doing. Then to their Nourisher-Sustainer is their returning place, then He shall inform them of that which they had been doing |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And offend not those who call to other than God so that they not offend God out of spite without knowledge. Thus, We made to appear pleasing the actions of every community. Again, to their Lord is their return. Then, He will tell them what they had been doing |
| Dr Munir Munshey Do not abuse and vilify those whom they invoke besides Allah, lest they should retaliate and revile Allah out of ignorance. We have indeed made the deeds of each people appear adorable to them. Towards their Lord is their final destination. He will then tell them what they used to do |
| Edward Henry Palmer Do not abuse those who call on other than God, for then they may abuse God openly in their ignorance. So do we make seemly to every nation their work, then unto their Lord is their return, and He will inform them of what they have done |
| Farook Malik O believers, do not insult those, whom these pagans call upon besides Allah, lest in retaliation they call bad names to Allah out of their ignorance. Thus We have made the deeds of every group of people seem fair to them. In the end they will all return to their Lord and then, He will inform them of the reality of all that they have done |
| George Sale And abuse not those whom they call upon besides God, lest they, out of spite, abuse God in their ignorance. Thus unto every people have We caused their doings to seem fair. Then unto their Lord is their return; And He will inform them of what they used to do |
| Maududi Do not revile those whom they invoke other than Allah, because they will revile Allah in ignorance out of spite. For We have indeed made the deeds of every people seem fair to them. Tlen, their return is to their Lord and He will inform them of what they have done |
