﴿فَلَوۡلَآ إِذۡ جَآءَهُم بَأۡسُنَا تَضَرَّعُواْ وَلَٰكِن قَسَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 43]
﴿فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم وزين لهم الشيطان ما﴾ [الأنعَام: 43]
| Dr Kamal Omar Then why they did not show humility when Our inflictment came to them? Rather their hearts became hardened, and the Satan made fair-seeming to them that which they had been doing |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Then, why when drew near them Our might, they lowered not themselves? Rather, their hearts became hard. And Satan made appear pleasing to them what they had been doing |
| Dr Munir Munshey Why did they fail to (believe and) adopt humility when Our punishment struck them? On the contrary, their hearts grew (cold and) hard. Shaitan adorned and let their deeds seem adorable to them |
