O you Whose hearts: reflect the image of religious and spiritual virtues: "In your lowliest plight stand repentant, and feel contrition for all the wrong you have done and view it with dissatisfaction and be sure you will never execute it or the like of it ever again. Perhaps Allah will relent and quit you all His debt and welcome you into gardens of surpassing beauty beneath which rivers flow". "This is the day Allah shall exclude the Prophet and his companions, who faithfully and steadfastly believed, from infamy, humiliation and disgrace. Their faces glow with light emanating from Allah's countenance and proceeding ahead of them to illuminate the way for them when they contemplate the most difficult and inevitable crossing. Carrying their books bearing their records in their right hands, they pray: "Our Creator complement our light and forgive us; You are Qadirun (Omnipotent over all things)

﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا توبوا إلى الله توبة نصوحا عسى ربكم أن يكفر﴾ [التَّحرِيم: 8]

Dr Kamal Omar
O you who have Believed! Turn to Allah in sincere, reforming repentance. It may be that your Nourisher-Sustainer may write off from you your sins, and admit you to Gardens, flow underneath them rivers — the Day Allah will not disgrace An-Nabi and those who Believed alongwith him. Their Light will move between their hands (i.e., in front of them) and alongwith their sides. They will say: “Our Nourisher-Sustainer! Complete for us our Light and grant forgiveness for us. Surely, You are All-Capable over every thing .”
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar
O those who believed! Turn to God for forgiveness remorsefully, faithfully. Perhaps your Lord will absolve you of your evil deeds and cause you to enter into Gardens beneath which rivers run. On the Day God will not cover the Prophet with shame and those who believed with him. Their light will hasten about between them and on their right. They will say: Our Lord! Fulfill for us our light and forgive us. Truly, Thou art Powerful over everything
Dr Munir Munshey
Oh you believers! Turn to Allah in repentance, an earnest (and heartfelt) repentance. Allah, your Lord, may just rid you of your sins (and your faults and flaws); He will usher you into paradise, through which run the rivers. Allah will not let the prophet and those who believe in him, be humiliated on that day. The light (emanating from them) would run in front of, and to the right of them. They shall call out, "Our Lord, (please) complete for us our light, and forgive us. Indeed, You have power over all things
Edward Henry Palmer
O ye who believe! turn repentant to God with sincere repentance; it may be that thy Lord will cover for you your offences and will bring you into gardens beneath which rivers flow!- the day God will not disgrace the Prophet nor those who believe with him; their light shall run on before them, and at their right hands! they shall say, 'Our Lord! perfect for us our light and forgive us; verily, Thou art mighty over all
Farook Malik
O believers! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance. It may well be that your Lord will remove from you your sins and admit you to gardens beneath which rivers flow. On that Day Allah will not humiliate the Prophet and those who believe with him. Their light will shine in front of them and on their right, and they will say: "Our Lord! Perfect our light for us and grant us forgiveness, for You have power over all things
George Sale
O true believers, turn unto God with a sincere repentance: Peradventure your Lord will do away from you your evil deeds, and will admit you into gardens, through which rivers flow; on the day whereon God will not put to shame the prophet, or those who believe with him: Their light shall run before them, and on their right hands, and they shall say, Lord, make our light perfect, and forgive us; for thou art almighty
Maududi
Believers, turn to Allah in sincere repentance; maybe your Lord will expunge your evil deeds and admit you to the Gardens beneath which rivers flow. This will be on the Day when Allah will not disgrace the Prophet and those who have embraced faith and are with him; their light will be running before them and on their right hands, and they will say: "Our Lord, perfect for us our light and forgive us. Surely You have power over everything
