﴿۞ وَٱكۡتُبۡ لَنَا فِي هَٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا حَسَنَةٗ وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ إِنَّا هُدۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَۚ قَالَ عَذَابِيٓ أُصِيبُ بِهِۦ مَنۡ أَشَآءُۖ وَرَحۡمَتِي وَسِعَتۡ كُلَّ شَيۡءٖۚ فَسَأَكۡتُبُهَا لِلَّذِينَ يَتَّقُونَ وَيُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَٱلَّذِينَ هُم بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 156]
﴿واكتب لنا في هذه الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة إنا هدنا إليك قال﴾ [الأعرَاف: 156]
| Dr Kamal Omar And ordain for us good in this world, and in the Hereafter. Indeed We have turned to You in guidance.” (Allah) said: “My torment! I approach with it whom I think proper; and My Mercy extended to all things. So very soon I shall ordain this (Mercy) for those who pay obedience (to My Book) and pay up Zakat, and those: they Believe in Our Ayaat |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And prescribe for us in the present benevolence and in the world to come. Truly we turned back to Thee. He said: I light My punishment on whom I will and My mercy encompassed everything. Then, I will prescribe it for those who are Godfearing and give the purifying alms and those, they who believe in Our signs |
| Dr Munir Munshey And ordain for us whatever is good in the life of this world, as well as the life-to-come. We have really turned to You in repentance." (Allah) said, "I strike down with My punishment anyone I will. But My mercy extends over all things. I will ordain My mercy for those who are pious and pay their ´zakat´, and those who believe in Our (revelations and) signs |
| Edward Henry Palmer And write down for us in this world good, and in the future too; verily, we are guided unto Thee.' He said, 'My punishment - with it I fall on whom I will; and my mercy embraceth everything; and I will write it down for those who fear, and who give alms, and those who in our signs believe |
| Farook Malik O Allah ordain for us what is good in this life and in the Hereafter, surely we have turned to You." He replied: "I will inflict My punishment upon whom I please; yet My mercy encompasses everything. I will ordain special mercy for those who do righteous deeds, pay Zakah and believe in Our revelations |
| George Sale And ordain for us good in this world, as well as in the next; we have turned to Thee with repentance.' God replied, 'I will inflict My punishment on whom I will; but My mercy encompasses all things; so I will ordain it for those who act righteously and pay the Zakaat and those who believe in Our Signs |
| Maududi And ordain for us what is good in this world and in the World to Come for to You have we turned.´He replied: ´I afflict whomsoever I wish with My chastisement. As for My mercy, it encompasses everything. will show mercy to those who abstain from evil, pay Zakat and have faith in Our signs.´ |
