Dr Kamal Omar those who follow the Messenger, the Ummi Prophet, that one whom they find written with them in At-Taurat and Al-Injeel — he commands them for Al-Ma’ruf and he forbids against Al-Munkar, he makes lawful to them At-Tayyibat, and declares prohibited to them Al-Khabaith, and he removes from them their self-imposed burdens (like illegitimate and concocted customs and concepts) and chains and fetters (of uncalled for and self-created practices) which seized them. So those who Believed in him, and gave him honour and helped him and adopted An-Noor (‘The Light’. This is one of the attributes of Al-Kitab) which has been sent down with him — these people: they are those who attain success |
Dr Laleh Bakhtiar those who follow the Messenger—the unlettered Prophet—whom they will find with them that which is a writing in the Torah and the Gospel. He commands them to that which is honorable and prohibits them from that which is unlawful. And He permits to them what is good and forbids them from deeds of corruption. And He lays down for them severe tests, and the yokes that had been on them. So those who believed in him and supported him and helped him and followed the light that was caused to descend to him, those, they are the ones who prosper |
Dr Munir Munshey (My mercy is for) those who follow the messenger, the prophet who can neither read nor write. They will find him mentioned in their scriptures, the Torah and the gospels. He orders them to do the right thing, and to avoid the wrong. He makes the pure and the wholesome lawful for them, and he forbids them the foul and the filthy. He relieves them of the burdens and the shackles with which they were bogged down. Successful indeed, are those who believe in him, honor and help him, and follow the light (the Qur´an) that was revealed to him |
Edward Henry Palmer who follow the Apostle - the illiterate prophet, whom they find written down with them in the law and the gospel, bidding them what is reasonable and forbidding them what is wrong, and making lawful for them what is good, and making unlawful evil things; and setting down for them their burdens and the yokes which were upon them; - to those who believe in him and aid him and help him and follow the law which has been sent down with him - they shall be the prosperous |
Farook Malik Now, special mercy is assigned to those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered Prophet (Muhammad) - whom they shall find described in the Torah and the Gospel. Who enjoins them what is good and forbids what is evil; makes pure things Halal (lawful) for them and impure things Haram (unlawful); relieves them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that were around their necks. Therefore, those who believe in him, honor him, help him, and follow the Light which is sent down with him, will be the ones who will be successful in this life and the hereafter |
George Sale Those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet, the Ummi whom they find mentioned in the Torah and the Gospel which are with them.
