﴿وَإِلَىٰ مَدۡيَنَ أَخَاهُمۡ شُعَيۡبٗاۚ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَٰهٍ غَيۡرُهُۥۖ قَدۡ جَآءَتۡكُم بَيِّنَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡۖ فَأَوۡفُواْ ٱلۡكَيۡلَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ وَلَا تَبۡخَسُواْ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشۡيَآءَهُمۡ وَلَا تُفۡسِدُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بَعۡدَ إِصۡلَٰحِهَاۚ ذَٰلِكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ ﴾
[الأعرَاف: 85]
﴿وإلى مدين أخاهم شعيبا قال ياقوم اعبدوا الله ما لكم من إله﴾ [الأعرَاف: 85]
| Dr Kamal Omar And to (the residents of) Madyan (We sent) their brother Shu’aib. He said: “O my nation! Pay obedience to Allah. There is not for you any as god other than He. Definitely has come to you Bayyinah from your Nourisher-Sustainer. So fulfill (honestly) the weight and the measure and do not deceive the people in their items (purchased), and do not make mischief on the land after its reformation and cleansing. This will be better for you provided you are Believers |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And to Midian God sent their brother Shuayb. He said: O my folk! Worship God! You have no god other than He. Surely, a clear portent drew near you from your Lord so live up to the full measure and the balance and diminish not the things of humanity nor make corruption in and on the earth after things were made right. That will be better for you if you had been ones who believe |
| Dr Munir Munshey And towards (the people of) Midian (We sent) their brother, Shoaib. He said, "Oh my people, worship Allah! You do not have any god besides Him. A clear guidance has come to you from your Lord. So, (when selling) give the full measure and weight, and do not defraud and deprive people of their rightful things. Do not spread confusion and chaos, after order has been established in the land. This is for your own good, if you only believe |
| Edward Henry Palmer And unto Midian did we send their brother Shohaib, who said, 'O my people! serve God, ye have no god save Him. There has come to you a manifest sign from your Lord; then give good weight and measure, and be not niggardly of your gifts to men, and do not evil in the earth after it has been righted. That is better for you if ye are believers |

Give just measure and weight, do not undersell others in their goods, and do not create mischief in the land after it has been set in order; this is better for you if you are true believers |
| George Sale And unto Madian we sent their brother Shoaib. He said unto them, O my people, worship God; ye have no God besides Him. Now hath an evident demonstration come unto you from your Lord. Therefore give full measure and just weight, and diminish not unto men ought of their matters; neither act corruptly in the earth, after its reformation. This will be better for you, if ye believe |
| Maududi And to Midian We sent forth their brother Shu´ayb He exhorted them: O my people! Serve Allah, you have no god but Him. Indeed a clear proof has come to you from your Lord. So give just weight and measure and diminish not to men their things ´ and make no mischief on the earth after it has been set in good order. That is to your own good, if you truly believe |
