﴿قَالَ نُوحٞ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمۡ عَصَوۡنِي وَٱتَّبَعُواْ مَن لَّمۡ يَزِدۡهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارٗا ﴾
[نُوح: 21]
﴿قال نوح رب إنهم عصوني واتبعوا من لم يزده ماله وولده إلا﴾ [نُوح: 21]
| Dr Kamal Omar Nuh said: “My Nourisher-Sustainer! Surely, they have disobeyed me, and they have followed one: his wealth and his children have not increased him except loss-wise |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar Noah said: My Lord! Truly, they rebelled against me. They followed such a one whose wealth and children increase him not, but in loss |
| Dr Munir Munshey Nooh said, "My Lord, they have really disobeyed me; they have followed the ones whose wealth and offspring have merely served to (multiply and) increase their loss |
| Edward Henry Palmer Said Noah, 'My Lord! verily, they have rebelled against me, and followed him whose wealth and children have but added to his loss |
| Farook Malik Finally, Noah submitted: "O Lord! My people have disobeyed me, and followed those chiefs whose wealth and children have added to them nothing but loss |
| George Sale Noah said, Lord, verily they are disobedient unto me; and they follow him whose riches and children do no other than increase his perdition |
| Maududi Noah said: "My Lord, they did not pay heed to what I said, and followed those (nobles) whose possession of wealth and children has led them to an even greater loss |
