﴿وَلَا تَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ خَرَجُواْ مِن دِيَٰرِهِم بَطَرٗا وَرِئَآءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطٞ ﴾
[الأنفَال: 47]
﴿ولا تكونوا كالذين خرجوا من ديارهم بطرا ورئاء الناس ويصدون عن سبيل﴾ [الأنفَال: 47]
| Dr Kamal Omar And do not become like those who came out of their homes boastfully and to be seen of men and they hinder (people) from the Path of Allah. And Allah is All-Surveillant over what they do |
| Dr Laleh Bakhtiar And be not like those who went forth from their abodes recklessly to show off to personages and bar them from the way of God. And God is One Who Encloses what they do |
| Dr Munir Munshey Do not be like those who leave their homes (for battle) with a great pomp and conceit, and a desire to show off. They block (people) from the path of Allah. Everything they do is within Allah´s knowledge and domain |
| Edward Henry Palmer And be not like those who went forth from their homes with insolence, and for appearance sake before men, and to turn folks off God's way; for all they do God comprehends |
| Farook Malik Do not be like those who started from their homes recklessly in order to be seen by everybody and debar others from the Way of Allah. Allah encompasses all their actions |
| George Sale And be not as those who went out of their houses in an insolent manner, and to appear with ostentation unto men, and turned aside from the way of God; for God comprehendeth that which they do |
| Maududi And be not like those who came forth from their homes exulting, with a desire to be seen of men, and hindering others from the way of Allah. Allah encompasses all that they do |
