﴿قَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱللَّهُ وَلَدٗاۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۖ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّۖ لَهُۥ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ إِنۡ عِندَكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭ بِهَٰذَآۚ أَتَقُولُونَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾
[يُونس: 68]
﴿قالوا اتخذ الله ولدا سبحانه هو الغني له ما في السموات وما﴾ [يُونس: 68]
Mohammad Habib Shakir They say: Allah has taken a son (to Himself)! Glory be to Him: He is the Self-sufficient: His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth; you have no authority for this; do you say against Allah what you do not know |
Mohammad Shafi They say, "Allah has got a son!" Glorified is He — the Self-sufficient. His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. You have no authority over any of this. How can you say about Allah what you do not know |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall They say: Allah hath taken (unto Him) a son - Glorified be He! He hath no needs! His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. Ye have no warrant for this. Tell ye concerning Allah that which ye know not |
Mufti Taqi Usmani They say, “Allah has got a son.” Pure is He. He is Self-Sufficient. To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. You have no proof for it. Do you allege about Allah what you do not know |
Muhammad Asad [And yet] they assert, "God has taken unto Himself a son!" Limitless is He in His glory! Self-sufficient is He: unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth! No evidence whatever have you for this [assertion]! Would you ascribe unto God something which you cannot know |

He is The Ever- Affluent; (Literally: Ever-Rich) to Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Do you decidedly have any all-binding authority in your presence for this? (i.e., this conjecture about a child) Do you say against Allah what you do not know |
Muhammad Sarwar Some people have said that God has begotten a son. God is too Glorious to have a son! God is Self-sufficient and to Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. In this, you (people) have no authority. Do you ascribe to God things of which you have no knowledge |

Safi Kaskas They say, "God has taken a son. May He be exalted in His glory. He is self-sufficient beyond needs. Everything that is in the heavens and on earth belongs to Him." You have no authority to say this. How dare you say about God what you do not know |
