Quran with British translation - Surah Yusuf ayat 9 - يُوسُف - Page - Juz 12
﴿ٱقۡتُلُواْ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطۡرَحُوهُ أَرۡضٗا يَخۡلُ لَكُمۡ وَجۡهُ أَبِيكُمۡ وَتَكُونُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ قَوۡمٗا صَٰلِحِينَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 9]
﴿اقتلوا يوسف أو اطرحوه أرضا يخل لكم وجه أبيكم وتكونوا من بعده﴾ [يُوسُف: 9]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir Slay Yusuf or cast him (forth) into some land, so that your father's regard may be exclusively for you, and after that you may be a righteous people |
| Mohammad Shafi Kill Joseph or abandon him into a distant land, so that your father dotes on you exclusively. And thereafter you can become righteous people |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall (One said): Kill Joseph or cast him to some (other) land, so that your father's favour may be all for you, and (that) ye may afterward be righteous folk |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani Let us kill Yūsuf, or throw him at some place on earth, and thus your father’s full attention will be devoted for you alone, and after doing that, you may become a righteous people.’’ |
| Muhammad Asad [Said one of them:] "Slay Joseph, or else drive him away to some [faraway] land, so that your father's regard may be for you alone: and after this is done, you will be [free to repent and to live once again as] righteous people |
