Quran with British translation - Surah Al-Anbiya’ ayat 111 - الأنبيَاء - Page - Juz 17
﴿وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِي لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتۡنَةٞ لَّكُمۡ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ ﴾
[الأنبيَاء: 111]
﴿وإن أدري لعله فتنة لكم ومتاع إلى حين﴾ [الأنبيَاء: 111]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And I do not know if this may be a trial for you and a provision till a time |
| Mohammad Shafi And I know not but this (your life in this world) may be a trial for you and a provision to enjoy for a time |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And I know not but that this may be a trial for you, and enjoyment for a while |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And I do not know; perhaps it is a trial for you and an enjoyment for a while.” |
| Muhammad Asad But [as for me,] I do not know whether, perchance, this [delay in God’s judgment] is but a trial for you, and a [merciful] respite for a while.” |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And decidedly I do not realize (that) perhaps it would be a temptation for you, and an enjoyment for a while." (i.e., your disbelief) |
| Muhammad Sarwar I do not know (why God has commanded me to warn you of the torment). Perhaps it is a trial for you and a respite for an appointed time |
