﴿يَوۡمَ تَرَوۡنَهَا تَذۡهَلُ كُلُّ مُرۡضِعَةٍ عَمَّآ أَرۡضَعَتۡ وَتَضَعُ كُلُّ ذَاتِ حَمۡلٍ حَمۡلَهَا وَتَرَى ٱلنَّاسَ سُكَٰرَىٰ وَمَا هُم بِسُكَٰرَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّ عَذَابَ ٱللَّهِ شَدِيدٞ ﴾
[الحج: 2]
﴿يوم ترونها تذهل كل مرضعة عما أرضعت وتضع كل ذات حمل حملها﴾ [الحج: 2]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir On the day when you shall see it, every woman giving suck shall quit in confusion what she suckled, and every pregnant woman shall lay down her burden, and you shall see men intoxicated, and they shall not be intoxicated but the chastisement of Allah will be severe |
| Mohammad Shafi That day, were you to witness it, every woman giving suck shall abandon what she suckled, and every pregnant woman shall abort what she bore. And you would see humans appear intoxicated, and they shall not be intoxicated. But the cataclysmic Act of Allah will be so severe (as to make them appear intoxicated) |
