Quran with British translation - Surah An-Naml ayat 47 - النَّمل - Page - Juz 19
﴿قَالُواْ ٱطَّيَّرۡنَا بِكَ وَبِمَن مَّعَكَۚ قَالَ طَٰٓئِرُكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۖ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٞ تُفۡتَنُونَ ﴾
[النَّمل: 47]
﴿قالوا اطيرنا بك وبمن معك قال طائركم عند الله بل أنتم قوم﴾ [النَّمل: 47]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir They said: We have met with ill luck on account of you and on account of those with you. He said: The cause of your evil fortune is with Allah; nay, you are a people who are tried |
| Mohammad Shafi They said, "We take you and those with you as portents of evil!" Salih said, "Your portents rest with Allah. Nay, you are a people on trial |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall They said: We augur evil of thee and those with thee. He said: Your evil augury is with Allah. Nay, but ye are folk that are being tested |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They said, “We regard you and those with you as a sign of bad omen.” He said, “Your omen is with Allah, but you are a people put to a test.” |
| Muhammad Asad They answered: “We augur evil from thee and those that follow thee!” Said he: “Your destiny, good or evil, rests with God yea, you are people undergoing a test!” |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali They said, "We augur ill of you and of (the ones) who are with you." He said, "Your bird (of) augury is in the Providence of Allah. No indeed, (but) you are a people being tempted |
| Muhammad Sarwar They said, "We have an ill omen about you and your followers." Salih replied, God has made your ill fortune await you. You are a people on trial |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani They said, .We regard you and those with you as a sign of bad omen. He said, .Your omen is with Allah, but you are a people put to a test |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition They replied, “You and your followers are a bad omen for us.” He responded, “Your omens are destined by Allah. In fact, you are ˹only˺ a people being tested.” |

| Safi Kaskas They said, "We consider you to be a bad omen, you and those with you." He said, "Your omen is with God. Rather, it is you who are being tested |
