﴿وَلۡيَخۡشَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَوۡ تَرَكُواْ مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّةٗ ضِعَٰفًا خَافُواْ عَلَيۡهِمۡ فَلۡيَتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَلۡيَقُولُواْ قَوۡلٗا سَدِيدًا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 9]
﴿وليخش الذين لو تركوا من خلفهم ذرية ضعافا خافوا عليهم فليتقوا الله﴾ [النِّسَاء: 9]
Mohammad Habib Shakir And let those fear who, should they leave behind them weakly offspring, would fear on their account, so let them be careful of (their duty to) Allah, and let them speak right words |
Mohammad Shafi And let the persons concerned apprehend a situation wherein they themselves might leave weak offspring behind and fear on their account. So let them have fear of Allah, and let them speak in appropriate and straight (unambiguous and to the point) words |
Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And let those fear (in their behaviour toward orphans) who if they left behind them weak offspring would be afraid for them. So let them mind their duty to Allah, and speak justly |
Mufti Taqi Usmani Those people should be fearful (in their behavior towards orphans) who, if they leave behind some helpless children, would remain anxious for them. So, they should fear Allah and say what is right |
