Quran with British translation - Surah Fussilat ayat 25 - فُصِّلَت - Page - Juz 24
﴿۞ وَقَيَّضۡنَا لَهُمۡ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَيَّنُواْ لَهُم مَّا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ ﴾
[فُصِّلَت: 25]
﴿وقيضنا لهم قرناء فزينوا لهم ما بين أيديهم وما خلفهم وحق عليهم﴾ [فُصِّلَت: 25]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And We have appointed for them comrades so they have made fair-seeming to them what is before them and what is behind them, and the word proved true against them-- among the nations of the jinn and the men that have passed away before them-- that they shall surely be losers |
| Mohammad Shafi And We had assigned to them companions who made their present and their past look good to them. And the fate that had once befallen the communities of jinns and men before them befell upon them. They were indeed doomed |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And We assigned them comrades (in the world), who made their present and their past fairseeming unto them. And the Word concerning nations of the jinn and humankind who passed away before them hath effect for them. Lo! they were ever losers |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And We had assigned for them fellows (in the worldly life) who beautified for them what was before them and what was behind them. And (thus) the word (of punishment) became due against them along with the communities that passed before them from Jinns and human beings. Surely they were the losers |
| Muhammad Asad for [when they became oblivious of Us,] We assigned to them [their own evil impulses as their] other selves, and these made appear goodly to them whatever lay open before them and whatever was beyond their ken. And so, the sentence [of doom] will have fallen due upon them together with the [other sinful] communities of invisible beings and humans that passed away before their time: verily, they [all] will indeed be lost |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And We have preordained for them comrades; so they have adorned for them that which is before (Literally: between their hands) them and that which is behind them. And against them the Saying has come true among nations that passed even before them of the jinn and of mankind. Surely they were losers |

| Safi Kaskas [for] We had assigned them companions, who made what is before them and what was behind them seem alluring. But the sentence has already been passed against them, together with generations of jinn and men before them: they were doomed |
