﴿وَقَالُواْ لَوۡلَا نُزِّلَ هَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ عَلَىٰ رَجُلٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَتَيۡنِ عَظِيمٍ ﴾
[الزُّخرُف: 31]
﴿وقالوا لولا نـزل هذا القرآن على رجل من القريتين عظيم﴾ [الزُّخرُف: 31]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And they say: Why was not this Quran revealed to a man of importance in the two towns |
| Mohammad Shafi And they say, "Why is not this Qur'aan sent down to some leading man in either of the two cities |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And they say: If only this Qur'an had been revealed to some great man of the two towns |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani They say, “Why was this Qur’ān not revealed on a great man from (either of) the two towns?” |
| Muhammad Asad And they say, too, “Why was not this Qur’an bestowed from on high on some great man of the two cities?” |
