Quran with British translation - Surah Al-Mumtahanah ayat 13 - المُمتَحنَة - Page - Juz 28
﴿يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَتَوَلَّوۡاْ قَوۡمًا غَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ قَدۡ يَئِسُواْ مِنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ كَمَا يَئِسَ ٱلۡكُفَّارُ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡقُبُورِ ﴾
[المُمتَحنَة: 13]
﴿ياأيها الذين آمنوا لا تتولوا قوما غضب الله عليهم قد يئسوا من﴾ [المُمتَحنَة: 13]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir O you who believe! do not make friends with a people with whom Allah is wroth; indeed they despair of the hereafter as the unbelievers despair of those in tombs |
| Mohammad Shafi O you who believe! Lean not in friendship towards people who have incurred Allah's wrath! They have no hopes at all in a life to come in the Hereafter just as the suppressors of the Truth from among those in the graves have no hopes of that life |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall O ye who believe! Be not friendly with a folk with whom Allah is wroth, (a folk) who have despaired of the Hereafter as the disbelievers despair of those who are in the graves |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani O you who believe, do not have friendship with a people with whom Allah is angry. They have despaired from the Hereafter as the infidels have despaired from those (buried) in the graves |
| Muhammad Asad O YOU who have attained to faith! Be not friends with people whom God has condemned! They [who would befriend them] are indeed bereft of all hope of a life to come - just as those deniers of the truth are bereft of all hope of [ever again seeing] those who are [now] in their graves |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali O you who have believed, do not patronize a people against whom Allah is angry, (and) who have already despaired of the Hereafter, even as steadfast disbelievers (i.e., occupants) have despaired of the companions of the tombs |
| Muhammad Sarwar Believers, do not establish friendship with the people who have become subject to the wrath of God. They do not have any hope in the life to come, just as the disbelievers have no hope in those who are in their graves |
| Muhammad Taqi Usmani O you who believe, do not have friendship with a people with whom Allah is angry. They have despaired from the Hereafter as the infidels have despaired from those (buried) in the graves |
| Mustafa Khattab Allah Edition O believers! Do not ally yourselves with a people Allah is displeased with. They already have no hope for the Hereafter, just like the disbelievers lying in ˹their˺ graves |

| N J Dawood Believers, do not make friends with people who have provoked the wrath of God; for they have despaired of the life to come, just as the infidels have despaired of the buried dead |
| Safi Kaskas Believers do not take as allies those with whom God is angry. They have despaired of the Hereafter, as unbelievers despair of those buried in their graves |
