﴿وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَٰقَوۡمِ لِمَ تُؤۡذُونَنِي وَقَد تَّعۡلَمُونَ أَنِّي رَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَيۡكُمۡۖ فَلَمَّا زَاغُوٓاْ أَزَاغَ ٱللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يَهۡدِي ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلۡفَٰسِقِينَ ﴾
[الصَّف: 5]
﴿وإذ قال موسى لقومه ياقوم لم تؤذونني وقد تعلمون أني رسول الله﴾ [الصَّف: 5]
| Mohammad Habib Shakir And when Musa said to his people: O my people! why do you give me trouble? And you know indeed that I am Allah's apostle to you; but when they turned aside, Allah made their hearts turn aside, and Allah does not guide the transgressing people |
| Mohammad Shafi And when Moses said to his people, "O my people! Why do you cause hurt to me, when you do know that I am Allah's Messenger to you?" So when they deviated, Allah deviated their minds. And Allah guides not the wicked people |
| Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall And (remember) when Moses said unto his people: O my people! Why persecute ye me, when ye well know that I am Allah's messenger unto you? So when they went astray Allah sent their hearts astray. And Allah guideth not the evil-living folk |
| Mufti Taqi Usmani And (remember) when Mūsā said to his people, “O my people, why do you hurt me, while you know that I am a messenger of Allah sent towards you.” So, when they adopted deviation, Allah let their hearts become deviate. And Allah does not guide the sinful people |

Why do you cause me grief, the while you know that I am an apostle of God sent unto you?" And so, when they swerved from the right way, God let their hearts swerve from the truth: for God does not bestow His guidance upon iniquitous folk |
| Muhammad Mahmoud Ghali And (remember) as Musa (Moses) said to his people, "O my people, why do you hurt me, and you already know that I am the Messenger of Allah to you?" So as soon as they swerved, Allah caused their hearts to swerve; and Allah does not guide the immoral people |
| Muhammad Sarwar Moses said to his people, "Why do you create difficulties for me when you know that I am God's Messenger to you?" When they deviated (from the right path), God led their hearts astray. God does not guide the evil-doing people |
