Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Isra’ ayat 61 - الإسرَاء - Page - Juz 15
﴿وَإِذۡ قُلۡنَا لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ ٱسۡجُدُواْ لِأٓدَمَ فَسَجَدُوٓاْ إِلَّآ إِبۡلِيسَ قَالَ ءَأَسۡجُدُ لِمَنۡ خَلَقۡتَ طِينٗا ﴾
[الإسرَاء: 61]
﴿وإذ قلنا للملائكة اسجدوا لآدم فسجدوا إلا إبليس قال أأسجد لمن خلقت﴾ [الإسرَاء: 61]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Behold, We said to the angels, “Bow down to Adam.” They all bowed down, except Lucifer. He said, “Shall I bow down to one whom You created from mud?” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And (remember) when We said to the angels: be humble to Adam. They all showed humbleness except Iblis (Satan), he said: should I be humble to one You created from clay |
| Ali Quli Qarai When We said to the angels, ‘Prostrate before Adam,’ they [all] prostrated, but not Iblis: he said, ‘Shall I prostrate before someone whom You have created from clay?’ |
| Ali Unal And (recall another instance of arrogance and insubordination) when We said to the angels: "Prostrate yourselves before Adam!" they prostrated themselves, but Iblis did not; he said: "Shall I prostrate myself before one whom You created of clay |

| Literal And when We said to the angels: "Prostrate to Adam." So they prostrated except Satan/Iblis, he said: "Do I prostrate to who you created (from) mud/clay |
