Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Baqarah ayat 14 - البَقَرَة - Page - Juz 1
﴿وَإِذَا لَقُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ قَالُوٓاْ ءَامَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ شَيَٰطِينِهِمۡ قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا مَعَكُمۡ إِنَّمَا نَحۡنُ مُسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ﴾
[البَقَرَة: 14]
﴿وإذا لقوا الذين آمنوا قالوا آمنا وإذا خلوا إلى شياطينهم قالوا إنا﴾ [البَقَرَة: 14]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al When they meet with those who believe they say, “We believe.” But when they are alone with their evil ones they say, “We are really with you, we were only joking.” |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad When they meet those who believed, they say: we believed. And when they are alone with their own devils (like-minded friends) they say: we are with you and we are only making fun of them |
| Ali Quli Qarai When they meet the faithful, they say, ‘We believe,’ but when they are alone with their devils, they say, ‘We are with you; we were only deriding [them].’ |
| Ali Unal When they meet those who believe, they declare (hypocritically), "We believe;" but when they are alone in secret with their (apparently human) satans (to whom they hasten in need to renew their unbelief and their pledge to them for fear of losing their support), they say: "Assuredly we are with you; we only mock (those others) |
