Quran with English translation - Surah An-Naml ayat 40 - النَّمل - Page - Juz 19
﴿قَالَ ٱلَّذِي عِندَهُۥ عِلۡمٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبۡلَ أَن يَرۡتَدَّ إِلَيۡكَ طَرۡفُكَۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهُ مُسۡتَقِرًّا عِندَهُۥ قَالَ هَٰذَا مِن فَضۡلِ رَبِّي لِيَبۡلُوَنِيٓ ءَأَشۡكُرُ أَمۡ أَكۡفُرُۖ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشۡكُرُ لِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّي غَنِيّٞ كَرِيمٞ ﴾

﴿قال الذي عنده علم من الكتاب أنا آتيك به قبل أن يرتد﴾ [النَّمل: 40]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Said one who had knowledge of the Book, “I will bring it to you before your sight can return to you.” Then when Solomon saw it placed before him he said, “This is allowed by my Lord, to make evident whether or not I will reject it, but if any is grateful, indeed his gratitude is for his own self. But if any rejects it, still my Lord is rich and noble, and truly my Lord is free of all needs, supreme in honor.” |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Someone who had knowledge of the book said: I bring it to you before you blink. So when he saw it placed before him, he said: this is from my Master's grace in order to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful, and whoever is grateful then he is only grateful for himself, and whoever is ungrateful then indeed my Master is rich (and without needs) and noble |
Ali Quli Qarai The one who had knowledge of the Book said, ‘I will bring it to you in the twinkling of an eye.’ So when he saw it set near him, he said, ‘This is by the grace of my Lord, to test me if I will give thanks or be ungrateful. Whoever gives thanks, gives thanks only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful [should know that] my Lord is indeed all-sufficient, all-generous.’ |
Ali Unal And one who had some knowledge of the Book said: "I can bring it to you in the twinkling of your eye." When Solomon saw the throne set in his presence, he said: "This is out of the pure grace of my Lord that He may try me whether I give thanks or act with ingratitude. Whoever gives thanks gives thanks only for (the good of) his own soul; and whoever acts with ingratitude – (let him be aware that) my Lord is surely All-Wealthy and Self-Sufficient, All-Munificent |
Hamid S Aziz He who had the knowledge of the Book said, "I will bring it to you before your glance can turn." And when he saw it set down beside him, he (Solomon) said, "This is of my Lord´s grace that He may try me whether I give thanks or am ungrateful - truly, my Lord is rich (independent, free of all needs) and Bountiful |
John Medows Rodwell And one who had the knowledge of Scripture said, "I will bring it to thee in the twinkling of an eye." And when he saw it set before him, he said, "This is of the favour of my Lord, to try me whether I will be thankful or unthankful. And he who is thankful is thankful to his own behoof; and as for him who is unthankful - truly my Lord is self-sufficient, bounteous |
Literal Who (is) at him knowledge from The Book said: "I come/bring to you with it before that your eye lid returns to you (you blink)." So when he saw it established/affixed at him, he said: "This (is) from my Lord`s grace/favour/blessing, to test me do I thank/be grateful, or I disbelieve, and who thanked/became grateful, so but he thanks/becomes grateful for his self, and who disbelieved, so then my Lord (is) rich, honoured/generous |
Mir Anees Original One who had knowledge of the book* said, "I will bring it to you before the blinking of your eye." So when he saw it settled in his presence, he said, "This is (something) from the grace of my Fosterer to test me whether I am grateful or ungrateful, and one who is grateful, then his being grateful is only for (the benefit of) his own soul and one who is ungrateful, then my Fosterer is certainly Independent, Honourable." * Law of teletransportation |
