Quran with English translation - Surah Luqman ayat 7 - لُقمَان - Page - Juz 21
﴿وَإِذَا تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَٰتُنَا وَلَّىٰ مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَا كَأَنَّ فِيٓ أُذُنَيۡهِ وَقۡرٗاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ ﴾
[لُقمَان: 7]
﴿وإذا تتلى عليه آياتنا ولى مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها كأن في أذنيه﴾ [لُقمَان: 7]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al When Our signs are rehearsed to this type of person, he turns away in arrogance, as if he did not hear them, as if there were deafness in both his ears. Announce to him a terrible penalty |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And when Our verses are read to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he did not hear it or as if his ears are hard of hearing, so give him the news a painful punishment |
Ali Quli Qarai When Our signs are recited to him he turns away disdainfully, as if he had not heard them [at all], as if there were a deafness in his ears. So inform him of a painful punishment |
Ali Unal When our Revelations are recited to such a one, he turns away in arrogance as if he had not heard them, as if there were heaviness in his ears. So give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment |
Hamid S Aziz And when Our signs are recited to such a one, he turns away in arrogance as though he heard them not, as if there was deafness in both his ears. Announce to him a grievous penalty |
John Medows Rodwell And when our signs are rehearsed to him, he turneth away disdainfully, as though he heard them not, - as though his ears were heavy with deafness. Announce to him therefore tidings of an afflictive punishment |
Literal And if Our verses/evidences are read/recited on (to) him, he turned away arrogantly, as if he did not hear/listen (to) it, as if in his two ears (is) deafness/a heavy weight , so announce good news to him with a painful torture |
