﴿وَلَا تَنكِحُواْ مَا نَكَحَ ءَابَآؤُكُم مِّنَ ٱلنِّسَآءِ إِلَّا مَا قَدۡ سَلَفَۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةٗ وَمَقۡتٗا وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 22]
﴿ولا تنكحوا ما نكح آباؤكم من النساء إلا ما قد سلف إنه﴾ [النِّسَاء: 22]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Do not marry women whom your fathers married, except what has undoubtedly passed. It was immoral and detestable, an abominable custom indeed |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad Do not marry what your fathers married among the women (their ex-wives) except what has passed, indeed it is indecent and disgusting and a bad way |
Ali Quli Qarai Do not marry any of the women whom your fathers had married, excluding what is already past. That is indeed an indecency, an outrage and an evil course |
Ali Unal And do not marry the women whom your fathers married – except what has happened (of that sort) in the past (before your conversion: such occurrences are forgivable provided you rectify your conduct and terminate any such contract of marriage). This was indeed a shameful deed and hateful thing, and how evil a way |
