﴿يَسۡمَعُ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ تُتۡلَىٰ عَلَيۡهِ ثُمَّ يُصِرُّ مُسۡتَكۡبِرٗا كَأَن لَّمۡ يَسۡمَعۡهَاۖ فَبَشِّرۡهُ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ ﴾
[الجاثِية: 8]
﴿يسمع آيات الله تتلى عليه ثم يصر مستكبرا كأن لم يسمعها فبشره﴾ [الجاثِية: 8]
Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al He hears the signs of God rehearsed to him, yet is obstinate and arrogant, as if he had not heard them. Then announce to him a terrible penalty |
Ali Bakhtiari Nejad who hears God' signs that is read to him, then he arrogantly insists (on his disbelief), as if he did not hear them. So give him news of a painful punishment |
Ali Quli Qarai who hears the signs of Allah being recited to him, yet persists arrogantly as if he had not heard them. So inform him of a painful punishment |
Ali Unal He hears God’s Revelations recited to him, and yet he persists in unbelief haughtily as if he had not heard them. So give him the glad tidings of a painful punishment |
Hamid S Aziz Who hears the Signs of Allah recited to him, then persists proudly as though he had not heard them; so announce to him a grievous punishment |
John Medows Rodwell Who heareth the signs of God recited to him, and then, as though he heard them not, persisteth in proud disdain! Apprise him of an afflictive punishment |
Literal He hears/listens (to) God`s evidences/verses being read/recited on (to) him, then he persists/insists arrogantly as though he did not hear/listen (to) it, so announce good news to him with a painful torture |
