Quran with English translation - Surah Al-Anfal ayat 11 - الأنفَال - Page - Juz 9
﴿إِذۡ يُغَشِّيكُمُ ٱلنُّعَاسَ أَمَنَةٗ مِّنۡهُ وَيُنَزِّلُ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءٗ لِّيُطَهِّرَكُم بِهِۦ وَيُذۡهِبَ عَنكُمۡ رِجۡزَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ وَلِيَرۡبِطَ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِكُمۡ وَيُثَبِّتَ بِهِ ٱلۡأَقۡدَامَ ﴾
[الأنفَال: 11]
﴿إذ يغشيكم النعاس أمنة منه وينـزل عليكم من السماء ماء ليطهركم به﴾ [الأنفَال: 11]
| Al Bilal Muhammad Et Al Remember He covered you with a sort of drowsiness, to give you calm as from Him. And he caused rain to descend on you from heaven, to refine you, to remove from you the stain of Satan, to strengthen your hearts, and to plant your feet firmly |
| Ali Bakhtiari Nejad And (remember) when He made you doze off as (a sign of) security from Him, and sent down rain from the sky to cleanse you with it, and to remove Satan’s filth from you, and to reinforce your hearts, and to solidify the footsteps with it |
| Ali Quli Qarai When He covered you with a trance as a [sense of] security from Him, and He sent down water from the sky to purify you with it, and to repel from you the defilement of Satan, and to fortify your hearts, and to make [your] feet steady with it |
| Ali Unal When (at the time that you most needed courage), He caused a slumber to enfold you as a reassurance from Him, and sent down water upon you from the sky, that thereby He might cleanse you (of all actual or ritual impurities, by enabling you to do the minor and major ablution), and take away from you the polluting whisperings of Satan, and through it make your hearts strong, and your steps steady |

| John Medows Rodwell Recollect when sleep, a sign of security from Him, fell upon you, and he sent down upon you water from Heaven that he might thereby cleanse you, and cause the pollution of Satan to pass from you, and that he might gird up your hearts, and stablish your feet by it |
| Literal If/when the slumber/dozing/lethargy covers/comes upon you safety/security from Him, and He descends water on you from the sky to purify/clean you with it and eliminate/wipe off the devil`s filth , and to bond/encourage on your hearts/minds and affirm/strengthen with it the feet |
| Mir Anees Original When He covered you with drowsiness (to bestow on you) peace from Him, and He sent down on you water from the sky to clean you thereby and remove from you the weakening uneasiness (caused by) the devil and to strengthen your hearts and thereby make (your) feet firm |
