﴿قَالُواْ تَٱللَّهِ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُم مَّا جِئۡنَا لِنُفۡسِدَ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا كُنَّا سَٰرِقِينَ ﴾
[يُوسُف: 73]
﴿قالوا تالله لقد علمتم ما جئنا لنفسد في الأرض وما كنا سارقين﴾ [يُوسُف: 73]
| Shabbir Ahmed They explained, "By God! Well you know that we did not come here to create mischief in the land, and we are no thieves |
| Syed Vickar Ahamed (The brothers) said: "By Allah! Indeed you know well that we did not come to make mischief in the land, and we are not thieves |
| Talal A Itani New Translation They said, 'By God, you know we did not come to cause trouble in the land, and we are not thieves |
| Talal Itani They said, “By God, you know we did not come to cause trouble in the land, and we are not thieves.” |
| Tbirving They said: "By God, you [ought to] know we have not come here to cause any trouble in the land. We are not thieves |
