﴿فَكَأَيِّن مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا وَهِيَ ظَالِمَةٞ فَهِيَ خَاوِيَةٌ عَلَىٰ عُرُوشِهَا وَبِئۡرٖ مُّعَطَّلَةٖ وَقَصۡرٖ مَّشِيدٍ ﴾
[الحج: 45]
﴿فكأين من قرية أهلكناها وهي ظالمة فهي خاوية على عروشها وبئر معطلة﴾ [الحج: 45]
Abdel Haleem How many towns steeped in wrongdoing We have destroyed and left in total ruin; how many deserted wells; how many lofty palaces |
Abdul Hye And many townships We have destroyed while they were wrong-doing. (Even today) they lie with their roofs in ruins, many deserted wells, and lofty (deserted) castles |
