﴿وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَشۡتَرِي لَهۡوَ ٱلۡحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَن سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ بِغَيۡرِ عِلۡمٖ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًاۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمۡ عَذَابٞ مُّهِينٞ ﴾
[لُقمَان: 6]
﴿ومن الناس من يشتري لهو الحديث ليضل عن سبيل الله بغير علم﴾ [لُقمَان: 6]
Abdel Haleem But there is the sort of person who pays for distracting tales, intending, without any knowledge, to lead others from God’s way, and to hold it up to ridicule. There will be humiliating torment for him |
Abdul Hye And of mankind there are some who purchase idle talks to mislead from the Way of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Way of Allah) as a mockery. For such people there will be a humiliating punishment |
Abdullah Yusuf Ali But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty |
