﴿لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ ﴾
[يسٓ: 40]
﴿لا الشمس ينبغي لها أن تدرك القمر ولا الليل سابق النهار وكل﴾ [يسٓ: 40]
Abdel Haleem The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outrun the day: each floats in [its own] orbit |
Abdul Hye The sun is neither permitted to overtake the moon nor does the night outstrip the day. They all each float in its own orbit |
Abdullah Yusuf Ali It is not permitted to the Sun to catch up the Moon, nor can the Night outstrip the Day: Each (just) swims along in (its own) orbit (according to Law) |
