﴿وَءَاتُواْ ٱلنِّسَآءَ صَدُقَٰتِهِنَّ نِحۡلَةٗۚ فَإِن طِبۡنَ لَكُمۡ عَن شَيۡءٖ مِّنۡهُ نَفۡسٗا فَكُلُوهُ هَنِيٓـٔٗا مَّرِيٓـٔٗا ﴾
[النِّسَاء: 4]
﴿وآتوا النساء صدقاتهن نحلة فإن طبن لكم عن شيء منه نفسا فكلوه﴾ [النِّسَاء: 4]
Abdel Haleem Give women their bridal gift upon marriage, though if they are happy to give up some of it for you, you may enjoy it with a clear conscience |
Abdul Hye And give women (whom you marry) their dower (as obligation) willingly. But if they willingly give up to you any part of it on their own, then you may enjoy it without fear of any harm |
Abdullah Yusuf Ali And give the women (on marriage) their dower as a free gift; but if they, of their own good pleasure, remit any part of it to you, Take it and enjoy it with right good cheer |
