﴿وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَعَالَوۡاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِلَى ٱلرَّسُولِ قَالُواْ حَسۡبُنَا مَا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآۚ أَوَلَوۡ كَانَ ءَابَآؤُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَهۡتَدُونَ ﴾
[المَائدة: 104]
﴿وإذا قيل لهم تعالوا إلى ما أنـزل الله وإلى الرسول قالوا حسبنا﴾ [المَائدة: 104]
| Abdel Haleem when it is said to them, ‘Come to what God has sent down, and to the Messenger,’ they say, ‘What we inherited from our forefathers is good enough for us,’ even though their forefathers knew nothing and were not guided |
| Abdul Hye And when it is said to them: “Come to what Allah has revealed and to the Messenger (Muhammad),” they say: “Sufficient for us what we found upon our forefathers,” even though their forefathers did not know anything nor they had guidance |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali When it is said to them: "Come to what Allah hath revealed; come to the Messenger": They say: "Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following." what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance |
