﴿فَلَوۡلَآ إِذۡ جَآءَهُم بَأۡسُنَا تَضَرَّعُواْ وَلَٰكِن قَسَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ مَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ﴾
[الأنعَام: 43]
﴿فلولا إذ جاءهم بأسنا تضرعوا ولكن قست قلوبهم وزين لهم الشيطان ما﴾ [الأنعَام: 43]
| Abdel Haleem If only they had learned humility when suffering came from Us! But no, their hearts became hard and Satan made their foul deeds alluring to them |
| Abdul Hye Why did they not humble themselves when Our punishment came to them? Because their hearts became hardened, and Satan made seem fair to them what they used to do |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali When the suffering reached them from us, why then did they not learn humility? On the contrary their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their (sinful) acts seem alluring to them |
