﴿سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَبۡعَ لَيَالٖ وَثَمَٰنِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومٗاۖ فَتَرَى ٱلۡقَوۡمَ فِيهَا صَرۡعَىٰ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٍ خَاوِيَةٖ ﴾
[الحَاقة: 7]
﴿سخرها عليهم سبع ليال وثمانية أيام حسوما فترى القوم فيها صرعى كأنهم﴾ [الحَاقة: 7]
| Abdel Haleem that God let loose against them for seven consecutive nights, eight consecutive days, so that you could have seen its people lying dead like hollow palm-trunks |
| Abdul Hye which Allah imposed on them for 7 nights and 8 days in succession, so that you could see the people lying overthrown (destroyed) in it as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms |
| Abdullah Yusuf Ali He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down |
